PAPO will be hosting the 2024 Canterbury Champs in the Geraldine area.
There will be 2 champs events events on the Craigmore and Kakahu maps, plus a low-key sprint on the Geraldine town map.

Standard event fees
These are available to members of any orienteering club in the world.

Grades are in 2-year bands up to age 18 and in 10-year bands for over 40s.

For those that want an easier navigational challenge or shorter course than the competitive grade.

If you have not run a red course before, we recommended you do not try your first red course at this event as the maps and courses are very technical.
If you wish to change grade after entry but before final entries have closed, fill out Canty Champs 2024 change form prior to entries closing (Mon 4th Mar).
After this date, only changes to the recreational grades may be made in person at the event.
Start times for both the Middle and the Long Distance will be allocated and published prior to the events. Earliest start is 10.30am.

The SportIdent (SI) punching system will be used in all events with Si Air+ enabled. Only regular SI cards will be available for hire: $3 per event.
We have added a low-key evening sprint to the programme on Friday evening. This will be similar in nature to our evening sprint events in Christchurch with 3 courses available.

PAPO has booked Raincliff Youth Camp & Conference Centre (http://www.raincliff.freeservers.com) to provide group accommodation over this weekend. This is about half way between Geraldine and Fairlie.
This is booked for Friday & Saturday night, providing a great opportunity for competitors to stay together and be social. There are bunks for 74 people, sites for campervans (wired power available) and space for tents. The cost is $40 per senior, $20 per junior for bunks, caravans or camping. The fee covers the whole weekend whether you stay Saturday only or Friday as well.
