Boyle River orienteering.

It includes easy courses for those who are new to the sport and would like to give it a go. All welcome! Event suitable for the whole family.

Pre-entries are preferred for all PAPO events. Member rates will apply to pre-entries.

Limited enter on the day will be available. Enter on the day will be charged at non-member prices for all entries.

The will be 5 course options available. The two red courses will have an option for head-to-head racing:

If you are new to orienteering, we recommend entering the White (families and children) or Yellow (adults) course for your first event. If you want more, do an additional course for $2 per map.

Red course head-to-head racing option:

  • Short Red has a butterfly loop so 2 competitors / arch enemies / friends can start at the same time.
  • Long Red has 3 loops so 3 competitors / arch enemies / friends can start at the same time.

All entries to be paid by credit/debit card at time of entry via the entry system (EnterO), we no longer accept bank transfers for event entries.
Helpers on the day and PAPO members paying with VIP points can choose the VIP points option when paying.

Travel and Parking

Boyle River is around 40 mins from Hanmer Springs on the Lewis Pass Road (SH7). 
Parking: Boyle River carparking.
Event registration adjacent to parking. 500m walk to start.

Event timetable:

Registration: From 12.30pm
Start times: 1pm – 3pm.
Course closure: 5pm
Electronic Punching: SI Air+ will be turned on for this event, bring your SI Air card if you have one. For those without an SI Air card (and anyone hiring a SI card) punch in the usual manner.

Dogs

Sorry no dogs permitted.

Accommodation:

PAPO has booked the lodge at Boyle River Outdoor Education Centre for the Friday and Saturday nights. Bunks and camping are available.
