Travel and Parking

From Christchurch travel on State Highway 73 towards the West Coast. Flock Hill is on the right hand side of the highway after the Cave Stream carpark. This is a 100km, 1hr 30min drive from Christchurch.

Parking: In the paddock on right hand side of the highway after the Cave Steam carpark. Look for orienteering signs.
Event centre and registration:  1 km/20-30 minute walk from the carpark to event centre. It’s very rough, up and down a creek. Alternative is dropping at the locked gate just north of Parapet Rock on SH73 and biking or pushing a pram 2.5km along the rough gravel road. If even that is still too hard email us and we will try shuttle you in (contact Sara Prince or email PAPOentries@gmail.com)
Start: Another 1km / 15-30 minute walk from the registration (200m climb).
Finish and download. The finish and download will be at the event centre.

Weather warnings

The event centre and course are very exposed. Check the forecast before leaving, if cold it is very cold and no shelter. If hot and sunny, there is no shade. If wet, the rock will be very slippery.

Event timetable:

Registration: From 10am
Start times: 10.30am – 12.30am. NOTE information above on time required to walk to the event centre and from there to the start. Leave early!
