PAPO MTBO weekend 2024
- Saturday April 13th. MTBO Enduro. Several short MTBO courses linked together using the Bottle Lake MTBO map and other maps nearby. See https://papo.org.nz/events/view/4150/mtbo-enduro
- Sunday April 14th. MTBO OY - The Willows.
Mountain bike orienteering on the Willows map, mostly gravel roads with a sprinkling of singletrack. The event will use point-to-point orienteering courses, with six course distances available (corresponding to the 6 OY grades). Something to suit everyone, from beginners to experts.
This event is part of the PAPO OY series, with OY points awarded to PAPO club members.
Both days include easy courses for those who are new to the sport and would like to give it a go. All welcome! Event suitable for the whole family.

Pre-entries are preferred for all PAPO events. Member rates will apply to pre-entries.

If you are new to orienteering, we recommend entering the White (families and children) or Yellow (adults) course for your first event. If you want more, do an additional course for $2 per map.

Payments:
All entries to be paid by credit/debit card at time of entry via the entry system (EnterO), we no longer accept bank transfers for event entries.
Helpers on the day and PAPO members paying with VIP points can choose the VIP points option when paying.

Travel and Parking
Event Centre is at the Willows Recreation area, Thompsons Road, off Old West Coast Road, West Melton. (We are using the same event centre set-up as last year).
From Christchurch CBD head West to join Yaldhurst Rd/SH73, continue West then fork right onto Old West Coast Rd, and after ~14km turn right onto Thompsons Rd (directly opposite Calders Road). The event centre is ~2km further at the recreation area car park. Allow approximately 35 mins drive from Christchurch CBD.
Event registration and start area: Adjacent to parking.
Event timetable:
Registration: From 10am
Start times: 10.30am – 12.30am.
Course closure: 2.30pm
Electronic Punching: SI Air+ will be turned on for this event, bring your SI Air card if you have one. For those without an SI Air card (and anyone hiring a SI card) punch in the usual manner.
