Xmas event. Diamond Harbour

Xmas event. Diamond Harbour. This is a 60 minute score/rogaine event. There are a mix of control sites ranging from easy to hard navigation difficulty providing something to suit everyone including those who are new to the sport and would like to give it a go. All welcome! Event suitable for the whole family. Have fun and enjoy this casual event. 

The terrain is a mixture of mature pine forest, park areas, historic buildings and amenity plantings. Courses also include some intricate vegetation and rock features.

End-of -year prizegiving will be around 1pm, we will be presenting the 2022 trophies for the OY series, most improved orienteers and volunteer awards. Hopefully there will be a sausage sizzle as a fundraiser for Juniors travelling to orienteering events.

Entries:

Pre-entries are preferred for all PAPO events. Member rates will apply to pre-entries.

Limited enter on the day will be available. Enter on the day will be charged at non-member prices for all entries.

Courses:

A one hour score/rogaine, can be done as a team or individually.
There will be some map memory controls (the map for this will be on one of the controls on the course), these will spell a word that will earn you some bonus points!

There will also be the option of running a White course instead (please talk to registration on the day, this is not an option on the entry system).

All entries to be paid by credit/debit card at time of entry via the entry system (EnterO), we no longer accept bank transfers for event entries.
Helpers on the day and PAPO members paying with VIP points can choose the VIP points option when paying.

Travel and Parking

Drive through Charteris bay to Diamond Harbour or catch the ferry from Lyttleton (or kayak, packraft, swim... ).
The event centre is the Stoddart Point Car park (Stoddard's Road off Waipapa Ave) above the ferry terminus in Diamond Harbour. 

Event timetable:

Registration: From 10.30am
Start times: 11.00am – 11.30am. everyone must start in this half-hour window.
Finish time: 1 hour after your start time!
Electronic Punching: SI Air+ will be turned on for this event, bring your SI Air card if you have one. For those without an SI Air card (and anyone hiring a SI card) punch in the usual manner.

Dogs

Dogs under effective control are allowed.

Social & prizegiving

End of year prizegiving & social: The PAPO end of year social and prizegiving will happen after the Xmas event at around 1pm.
