The Orton Bradley weekend will have a rogaine on Sat evening and a classic OY on Sunday. We recommend camping at Orton Bradley on Saturday night. PAPO will be have a BBQ there, providing a good chance to meet fellow orienteers. Great start to the orienteering year in Canterbury!

This event is part of the PAPO OY series, with OY points awarded to PAPO club members.

Pre-entries are preferred for all PAPO events. Member rates will apply to pre-entries.

If you are new to orienteering, we recommend entering the White (families and children) or Yellow (adults) course for your first event. If you want more, do an additional course for $2 per map.  

Costs: 

Costs: Standard PAPO costs apply see https://papo.org.nz/faq/costs. (Note there is also a Orton Bradly park entry cost, see below).
Costs for non-member family entries & teams entries: Due to limitations with the entry system, the maximums for non-member families and teams may not be correctly applied. If the total amount calculated by the entry system is more than the maximum stated here https://papo.org.nz/faq/costs, please choose the Bank Transfer option and pay the maximum shown. Please email PAPOentries@gmail.com if you have done this.

Payments:

Credit card payments can be made from the entry system (EnterO). For bank transfers, please credit the PAPO bank account: 03-0823-04259310-00. Please reference your surname and "ORTONB"
VIP points: If you want to use a VIP card to pay, please mark this with "ORTONB OY" and choose Bank Transfer on the entry form. Bring your VIP card to the event to have it clipped at registration.
Helpers on the day: If you are helping out with the event and will take a free run, please choose Bank Transfer on the entry form. Forward your email confirmation to PAPOentries@gmail.com with a note that you part of the team helping to put the event on.

Travel and Parking

Travel to Charteris Bay and enter Orton Bradley Park.
There is a park entry fee of $5 per adult, $1 per child, maximum $10 per car. This will be collected in cash at registration (please do not pay at the gate).  For those camping Saturday this is covered by the camping fee.
Event registration and start area is adjacent to parking.

Event timetable:

Registration: From 10am
Start times: 10.30am – 12.30am.
Course closure: 2.30pm
Electronic Punching: SI Air+ will be turned on for this event, bring your SI Air card if you have one. For those without an SI Air card (and anyone hiring a SI card) punch in the usual manner.

Sorry no dogs permitted.

Camping

There is camping available on Saturday night. 
Camping will be area surrounding the "Base Camp" building for tents and caravans/motorhomes that do not require power. We will have access to the toilets, hot showers and a BBQ for cooking (BYO food). We will not have access to the main base camp building or kitchen. Breakfast and coffee

The Orton Bradley café will be open for breakfast and coffee. They will be open from 8.30am (earlier opening than usual for this event). Please support the café by buying some food or drinks.
