Canterbury Schools Orienteering Festival 2020

Wednesday 9 September 2020
Map:
Various parks and reserves around Christchurch - next is at Heathcote
Event Type:
Coaching and training practice

Coaching and practise is offered to all school-aged children at all levels from 4-5pm
No booking required for small group training, just turn up with your running shoes and a compass.
Bring your own Sport i-dent if you have one, otherwise we do lend them out for some training events. A Sport i-dent  is  a microchip that you place on your finger to 'punch' the controls you reach on an orienteering course.

Each training session will vary, it is run by volunteers and each will have something different to offer. There will be many different things to go over, so it will not have the same format every session. It may involve a walk around looking at features, or a discussion to start, or there maybe a set course to run.

COVID-19 guidelines for training events:

Under Level 2 at PAPO events we are now required to:
• Restrict events to 100 people at a time
• Display a NZ Tracer QR Code
• Record all attendees contact details for contact tracing purpose
• Maintain a 2 metre physical distance where possible, and if physical distancing is difficult, the use of masks are strongly encouraged.
• Manage events so that physical distancing can be maintained, managing or removing any bottlenecks or areas where congregating can occur – and to avoid on the day registrations (ideally pre registering for large events, but training should be fine as we are in smaller-sized groups). There will be no results area, no mass starts, and no socialising at events.
