An old favourite that we used for a foot orienteering event for a while. The map has been updated with all the changes since we were last there.  

90 minute score (rogaine) event. Do it alone or in a team. All welcome! Event suitable for the whole family.

Travel directions: McLeans Island road from SH1 just north of he airport. Follow signs to McLeans Island Recreation Area. 

Parking: Main carpark at McLeans Recreation Area.

Start location: Adjacent to parking.

Registration: from 10am

Start times: First Start block 10.30am - 11:15am. Second start block 11:30am-12.30pm (Choose your start block on the pre-entry)

Finish: 90 mins after your start time.

Course closure: 2.30pm

Dogs: Dogs under effective control are allowed.

This event is pre-entry and pre-paid online.

Under Level 2 Covid precautions we are required to have names and contact details for participant, so please enter separately. If you have a team your team captain will get the sport i-dent to punch controls and the map.

COVID-19:
As this event will be held under COVID Alert Level 2 the following will apply:
  • Event is split into two start blocks with max 100 participants in each start block. 
  • All participants must pre-register and pay online. Choose your  start block when you register. 
  • A QR Code code will be displayed for participants to scan with the NZ Covid app.
  • Participants should maintain a 2 metre physical distance where possible.
  • There will be no results displayed and no socialising at events.
