Welcome to OY3 for 2016 hosted at Butlers Bush. Please see below for some important information on the event, including training offered on the day.

Map: Butlers Bush

Event Type: Long, Middle and Short red courses as well as Orange, Yellow and White courses available

Planner: Georgia Whitla

Controller: Mike Harding

Start Times:  11-2pm

Getting there: The SH73 from Christchurch towards Arthurs Pass. The event is located approximately 10km after Springfield. Parking is in a paddock off SH73 and will be signposted. Take care making the turn into the parking area (on the right hand side of the road). Pull over to the left to let traffic behind you pass if required.

Special information: Be aware that this event is near the mountains and it is the middle of winter. There is no snow on the map currently but when we were out planning it was snowing and quite chilly. Come prepared for the weather conditions on the day.  There are also some marshes on course so be prepared for wet feet.

Registration: At the caravan located a short walk from the parking area

Cost: Usual OY costs

Training on the day: There will be a short training session offered before the event, mainly aimed at orange/red level runners and focusing on techniques that will be useful on the day. Meet at the registration caravan at 10:30. This session will be with Sophie Harrison with hopefully some assitance from Georgia if she isnt running around putting out controls. All welcome! Come along if you have any questions about maps and orienteering.
