Schools Training. Eight sessions at 4pm. Mon 19th Aug - Tue 10th Sep
Eight after-school training sessions for kids heading to the Canterbury Schools Orienteering Festival. Training from 19 August to 10 Sept. No prior orienteering experience necessary, you just need to like being outdoors and enjoy walking or running, we can help you start.
Four sessions will have coaching that starts promptly at 4pm, so aim to be at these sessions just before 4pm to join-in. The four coached sessions with coaching are:
Mon 19 Aug | McCormacks Bay , Wed 28 Aug | Van Asch School , Mon 2 Sep | Old School Reserve and Mon 9 Sep | Heathcote.
The other four training sessions are:
Tue 20 Aug | Halswell Quarry, Thu 29 Aug | Hansen Park, Wed 4 Sep | Bottle Lake Forest and Tue 10 Sep | Hagley (Riccarton Avenue carpark by the tennis courts).
Events are on different evenings to help avoid clashing with other after-school activities. Make sure you sign up (as a school or individual) so we can provide enough maps. You can join-in even if you are not school-aged, it is ideal for all beginners.

Mon 9 Sep | Heathcote – Heathcote Domain Cricket Pavilion
Tue 10 Sep | Hagley Park – Hagley Park Tennis Courts
Time: 4pm start for 1 hour training session.
Cost: After-school training is $2 per child, pay at the event.
